Why the Yankees should start CC tonight

The most important game of this ALCS is not game 4.  It’s not game 5.  It’s game 6.  If you don’t win game 6, you are going to have to win game 7.  Period.  And with Cliff Lee pitching, you are going to struggle doing that.  That’s why you have to pitch CC on short rest tonight.  Then you throw Burnett in game 5.  Back him up with a couple innings of Hughes on short rest is you have to.  Doesn’t matter.  If you lose game 5, no biggie.  You have Petitte game 6 and CC game 7.  But if you WIN game 5, and are UP 3-2, you now have a chance to close out the series with Petitte, who pitched extremely well last night.  Would you rather have Petitte on short rest or Hughes on regular rest?  Well, on regular rest, Hughes got destroyed by the Rangers in Game 2.  Is there any reason to think he won’t have the same results in game 6?

I have watched this hit on DeSean Jackson a million times, and never was it ever cheap or dirty hit.  I don’t know what they want a defender to do.  Jackson clearly catches the ball running full speed across the middle and Robinson hits him in the chest to knock the ball out of his hands.  His hit worked…JACKSON DROPPED THE BALL!!!  They called a penalty for “defenseless receiver” but does that mean a guy running across the middle is not allowed to be hit?  WTF is wrong with the NFL anymore?  I could see if the ball was at his knees or was uncatchable.  THE BALL WAS CAUGHT!!!!!  Jesus Christ NFL.

Raul Ibanez cost the Phillies game 1.

He should have caught Burrell’s hit.  That was a play he got to, put up his glove to make the catch, and misplayed the ball.  He makes that catch, the gamestays at 2-1 and Werth’s bomb in the 7th makes it 3-2.  Madson pitches 8th, Ledge pitches 9th and the Phillies are up 1-0 in the series.  That being said, it’s now a 6 game series with the Phillies winning in 6.  Giants only avoided a quick defeat with that win last night.  Oswalt is going to pitch a gem tonight and the bats will wake up, even though Sanchez is a lefty. I predict a 4-1 win for Phillies tonight and a 1-1 series going out to the West Coast.  If the Phillies win game 3, Blanton sees the field.  If not, we will see Doc in game 4…and it will be a different and much better Doc.

Last night was the prime example of why I hate the Yankers. They are so damn good. It is more of a hateful respect. The Rangers are finished. This series won’t go past five games. Wilson pitched so well and they hit CC and they STILL lost!!!! Time to say goodbye Rangers.

Why do people have to get so personal?

You have an opinion.  Doesn’t matter what it is.  Maybe you think Roy Halladay is the greatest pitcher of all time.  Maybe you think Randall Cunningham was the greatest Eagles QB of all time.  Maybe you think the Flyers fans are Step-fords who will never criticize Ed Snyder even though they haven’t hoisted the cup in almost 40 years.  And maybe you think the Sixers have a chance to be a .500 team this year.

Do these opinions make you stupid?  No.  Do they warrant you being called everything from an asshole to a douche-nozzle?  Nope.  Why is it that some people can’t have healthy debate?  I don’t know.  Maybe it is just in their nature to make (and take) everything so personal?  Or maybe they themselves are assholes…or douche-nozzles?  Or maybe they have the social skills of a 3rd grader and don’t know how to debate someone past saying “I am rubber and you are glue, anything you say bounces off me and sticks to you!!!

Grow the Christ up people.  It’s sports.  Same with politics.  You want to be a liberal.  You want to be a conservative.  Just be yourself.  Nobody is stupid, except the person who is not him or her self.  If you are a phony, then yes, you are stupid…and an asshole..and likely even a douche-nozzle.
